Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998

Nothing is overdue, so no statutory interest or compensation applies yet. At 12% this invoice would accrue 1.58 per day once it passes its due date.

Statutory interest is the Bank of England base rate plus 8%. For the Act the rate is fixed twice a year: the base rate on 31 December applies to debts becoming late in the following January–June, and the rate on 30 June applies for July–December. Set the base rate above to the one in force for your period.

Holiday dates are England & Wales, 2025–2027. Interest is calculated simple on a 365-day year. Guidance only, not legal or tax advice.
